Jane and Mak make a handsome pair on the cover of the Equine Journal this month - December 2007. The road to the Olympics is a tough one for any athlete. The combination of dedication, conditioning and the financial commitment to reach such a lofty goal is daunting. When you add horses to the mix, it also becomes a matter of luck: finding the right horse, staying healthy, and reaching peak performance as a team at the same time. Jane Hannigan of Harvard, Massachusetts, has the drive and determination, and in 2005 she found the horse: Maksymilian, a magnificent Dutch Warmblood by Elcaro. "He is amazing," she says with pride. American dressage rider Jane Hannigan started her talented Grand Prix horse, Maksymillian on the Mushroom Matrix soon after meeting the developer of the product, Dr. Hausman at the prestigious 2007 Palm Beach Dressage Derby in Florida, where the Mushroom Matrix was introduced to the east coast. “Mak has a tendency to be tense and rather spooky. We tried the Mushroom Matrix and actually found that he’s calmer. He’s taking the training better and he’s matured a lot as a horse. That’s a big difference,” Hannigan said.
