Jane and Mak make a handsome pair on the cover of the Equine Journal this month - December 2007.  

The road to the Olympics is a tough one for any athlete. The combination of dedication, conditioning and the financial commitment to reach such a lofty goal is daunting. When you add horses to the mix, it also becomes a matter of luck: finding the right horse, staying healthy, and reaching peak performance as a team at the same time.  Jane Hannigan of Harvard, Massachusetts, has the drive and determination, and in 2005 she found the horse: Maksymilian, a magnificent Dutch Warmblood by Elcaro. CDI-W Raleigh and on to Gladstone

Image Two yellow ribbons assure Jane and Mak a spot at Gladstone
At the CDI in Raleigh, North Carolina, Jane and Mak had two third place finishes - a 65% in the Grand Prix and a 68% in the Grand Prix Freestyle. This has brought their average to a 65% for the year and they have qualified in the 9th spot for the Collecting Gaits Farm Festival of Champions at Gladstone, New Jersey in two weeks! Congratulations to them both! We will cheer them on at the Championship!

ESDCTA – Memorial Weekend Dressage Show

Image A first and second place - a double freestyle weekend in New Jersey...

At the ESDCTA Memorial Weekend Dressage Show in New Jersey, Jane and Mak tried out their new freestyle - twice!  On Saturday, they scored a 68%, finishing in second place, and on Sunday they scored 67% and took home the blue ribbon in the High Performance Grand Prix Freestyle class.

Image Grand Prix Special Win at the GCDA Finale II with a 67.5%
Under grueling temperatures of one billion degrees, Jane and Mak won the Grand Prix Special under the hot Florida sun.  The previous day Jane and Mak were prepared to enter the ring for their Grand Prix test but unfortunately the ring steward told them they would be delayed by another half an hour.

Jane and Mak 4th place in Grand Prix Freestyle at Gold Coast Opener At their first show of the season Jane and Mak scored a 69.1% in the Grand Prix Freestyle riding to music by Bond. Congratulations Jane!
