Euro Update: End of the Year Interview with Riders, Judges, Trainers, Professionals
Eurodressage has launched its famous "End of the Year Questions" series in which we asked several international riders, trainers, judges and journalists to review their year and highlight what they considered the most important evolutions and happenings in their personal and professional life. Monica Theodorescu, for instance, would like to see the prize money for dressage changed in 2009. "the prize money in dressage competitions should be the same as in jumping competitions, which will be even harder to ask for this in times of a financial crisis," she said. Dr. Ulf Möller considers live streaming of equestrian events on the Internet the most important evolution of 2008. DressageDaily's Mary Phelps-Hathaway was asked to participate, and see what she considered to be her favorite competition of 2008. Read More....
Dressage Olympian Dorothy Morkis Says the Olympic Experience is Never Forgotten But Getting Harder to Enjoy
By Lynndee Kemmet for DressageDaily.com
Competing in an Olympics is the dream of many riders and one who has done it says it's an experience that is never forgotten. But Dorothy Morkis, a member of America's Bronze Medal-winning team in Dressage at the 1976 Olympics in Bromont, Canada, also says that Olympic-level competition is getting increasingly stressful, particularly the constant concern of running afoul of anti-drug regulations.
"Being an Olympian impacts you in many ways. Once you're an Olympian, you're always an Olympian. You always belong to that special group," she said. "Unfortunately the way things are today, I think I would worry about my horse and the possibility of some forbidden substance making its way into my horse. Read More....

By Claartje van Andel dressagedirect
A freezing sunny winter outside and inside the warm Christmas atmosphere in the Nekkerhal in Mechelen Belgium was the environment for the sixth World Cup™ Qualifier in the Western European League. Once again it was won by Dutch Adelinde Cornelissen aboard Parzival who after Stockholm and London scored a hattrick by winning her third. “It was my third, but not my easiest”, Adelinde reacted. “The Nekkerhal is quite something with the rumor and distractions all around.
