Jane Hannigan and Maksymilian Earn a trip to the 2008 Dressage World Cup on 72.8% earned at Palm Beach Dressage Derby CDI-W/Y, March 2nd, 2008!

Loxahatchee, Florida – Jane Hannigan is off to the 2008 Dressage World Cup following her win Sunday in the CDI Grand Prix Freestyle at the Palm Beach Dressage Derby CDI-W/Y. Hannigan and Maksymilian scored a 72.85 percent putting them on the U.S. World Cup team. That score also earned them a second place in the Grand Prix Freestyle behind Canadian Ashley Holzer with Pop Art and their score of 77.45 percent.

Hannigan was beaming. "I'm so happy. The horse felt great today." Hannigan was rather astounded by her high freestyle score considering that she admitted to being out of sync with her music at some points in her ride. She's working on a new freestyle that is more technically difficult but opted not to change for the qualifying class.

"I decided that I would ride in what I refer to as my old shoes for the qualifiers because I'm really comfortable with it. I know the old freestyle so well that if I get lost, like I did today, I can catch myself," Hannigan said. She is working with Terry Ciotti Gallo on the new freestyle and is now aiming to have it ready for the World Cup.

Tuesday, 04 December 2007

Image Jane and Mak make a handsome pair on the cover of the Equine Journal this month - December 2007.

The road to the Olympics is a tough one for any athlete. The combination of dedication, conditioning and the financial commitment to reach such a lofty goal is daunting. When you add horses to the mix, it also becomes a matter of luck: finding the right horse, staying healthy, and reaching peak performance as a team at the same time.  Jane Hannigan of Harvard, Massachusetts, has the drive and determination, and in 2005 she found the horse: Maksymilian, a magnificent Dutch Warmblood by Elcaro. "He is amazing," she says with pride. But don't be fooled; this is not a dream that has happened overnight... Click here to check out the article.

Maksymilian proved he could be cool as a cucumber in front of a very large excited crowd at the Washington International Horse Show for the $25,000 Grand Prix Dressage Challenge.

In the Thursday night Grand Prix class, Jane and Mak received a 68.333% and finished 2nd place behind Courtney King and Idocus.  Mak was on his game and behaved like a grown up while he was in the ring, despite the boistrous cheering fans during WIHS "Barn Night" where prizes are awarded to groups based on best enthusiasm and spirit. Mak seemed to enjoy the attention. For the Friday night Grand Prix Freestyle, the pair made a slight mistake in their first set of one tempis but pulled out a great second set of flawless one tempis and bold extensions. They scored a 68.875% finishing again in 2nd place behind Courtney and Idocus...

Image Jane and Mak provide Mushroom Matrix testimonial

American dressage rider Jane Hannigan started her talented Grand Prix horse, Maksymillian on the Mushroom Matrix soon after meeting the developer of the product, Dr. Hausman at the prestigious 2007 Palm Beach Dressage Derby in Florida, where the Mushroom Matrix was introduced to the east coast.

“Mak has a tendency to be tense and rather spooky. We tried the Mushroom Matrix and actually found that he’s calmer. He’s taking the training better and he’s matured a lot as a horse. That’s a big difference,” Hannigan said. (Click to read the article at Dressage Daily...)
